Being a teacher myself, I feel that we should have more opportunities to continue our studies by being offered specific study leave and even certain incentives to help us balance study and work life. Moreover, I think that there is the need to continue more than ever in creating better educational environments for our kids and for all school employees. We teachers should be given more voice when it comes to syllabus, curriculum and even policy updates.
It is important for teachers (I am currently a student teacher) to have a say in what has to be taught to students, as we are at the forefront of education as we know what students require to improve their education.
As in all professions, teachers need to update their knowledge. Teachers and other school leaders need to keep abreast with contemporary ideas. So, professional development sessions, locally and abroad, should be well planned, supported and frequent.
