Students spend five years studying at University level to become teachers, yet, supply teachers are being paid almost as much only for having done the bare minimum compared to UOM graduates. I find this unsettling. Needless to say that other professions who also spend five years at UOM are paid far more. A teacher is the only profession that teaches all other professions. If less students choose this profession (as is already happening), what will happen of our education system in due course?
Supply teachers should be treated as teachers, they still carry the same load and responsibilities as regular teachers.
Five years spend studying at University is not a walk in the park and I believe that such hard work and sacrifice should be acknowledged.
