The need for learning how to code or program is increasing year on year. Keeping into account the increase in technology around us and the exponential growth it has shown to date, our children is at a great disadvantage as learning to code is, essentially, like a new language, and the younger they are taught the better!
As Malta statistics are not available, going by the US: "A new report from Burning Glass, a job market analytics firm, found that there were as many as 7 million job openings in 2015 in occupations that required coding skills. They also found that programming jobs overall are growing 12% faster than the market average." This, being taken from a larger sample size, shows that globally the need for coders is drastically increasing today, let alone within the next 10 years!
